Mia assists her spouse with their fitness business, Push Fitness Training.

Through continued education and hands on experience with complex patient & client care scenarios she developed a wealth of understanding and appreciation for health and wellness. Mia has received several honors, awards, and recognition throughout her career. Her healthcare career has been dedicated to creating high-quality, reliable systems of care that improve the outcomes and the quality of life for all of her patients and clients.

Drawing from her extensive educational and clinical background, Mia has a keen ability to diagnose a wide array of health conditions and to create highly individualized, effective, integrative plans for treatment. She does not apply treatments blindly or without explanation, nor does she assume her patients fit a certain mold. Rather, Mia believes in educating her patients on the options and then working closely with them, in partnership, to achieve a degree of health and wellness best suited for the individual.

She treats people ages 1 and up.

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical experience, which enables her to diagnose and manage common and chronic illnesses, either independently or as part of a health care team. A nurse practitioner provides care previously offered only by physicians and has the ability to prescribe medications.

Working in collaboration with a physician, a nurse practitioner provides high-quality, cost-effective and individualized care for the lifespan of patient’s special needs. It is documented that nurse practitioners are able to give a higher quality of care at a cheaper cost. The nurse practitioner’s focus is on taking care of the patient’s health and informing the patient on their specific issues, treatment, modifications, preventive measures, and maintenance.

NP’s focus largely on health maintenance, disease prevention, counseling and patient education in a wide variety of settings. With a strong emphasis on primary care, nurse practitioners are employed within several specialties, including neonatology, nurse-midwifery, pediatrics, school health, family and adult health, women’s health, mental health, home care, geriatrics and acute care.

NP’s are educated through programs that grant a master’s degree. A registered nurse is recommended to have extensive clinical experience before even applying to a nurse practitioner program. An intensive preceptorship under the direct supervision of a physician or an experienced nurse practitioner are key compenents to becoming a NP. Upon graduation NPs, must sit for board certfication and are then granted a license to practice after passing exams and proving competence.
